Days like today are so cozy. We're watching Buffalo football on an October Sunday afternoon, our little campsite tree has some yellow leaves popping up, and I'm looking through photos of our Saturday adventure.

A few of the doctors Rog has been working with have recommended Garden of the Gods for a while, so that's what he chose as our activity for his birthday weekend :) It definitely didn't disappoint; neither of us had ever seen anything like it.

The whole park had an incredible view of Pikes Peak, which is the highest summit of the Rocky Mountains' Front Range. Clouds swirled around the peak all day, and a storm finally broke out as we were hiking the last mile back to our car. We got caught in wind, rain, and hail, and it looked like we had jumped into a lake. Our shoes and socks were squishy, our shirts were soaked through, and our hair was drenched. After we made it to the car, we grabbed some towels out of the trunk and laughed at how ridiculous it was. The storm gave us one of the most vibrant rainbows we had ever seen, and it was probably the best way we could have ended the day.

Exploring new places like this puts so much into perspective for us. I'm so grateful to have been given this experience, and to be able to share it with my best friend. Three years of adventuring together, and five months of full time RV living in the books. I can't wait to see more.
