... I went to Florida.  Prepare for photo overload.

My grandma has always wanted to travel in an RV, so myself, my mom, my sister, my aunt, and three of my cousins all piled into one and took her to visit her sister.  The first day of the trip, it snowed all the way through North Carolina, but we made it to South Carolina before stopping for the night.

The second day, my grandma told me to pick a Georgia island on the map and that we would stop there, eat lunch, and go see the beach.  So I picked St Simons Island, right on the Atlantic Ocean.  It was beautiful.  It was pretty cold down by the water, so you can see that my little sister still has on jeans and a fleece jacket.  But the two of us managed to take off our shoes and feel the sand and the water a little bit :)

On our first full day in Florida, we went to see some manatees.  There's an electric company that releases clean, warm water into a nearby canal, and the manatees just love it.  They're completely wild and untamed and beautiful.  You can read more about it all here.  There were hundreds of manatees, so it was fun to spend a few hours there learning all about them.  We also got to see some sharks, sting rays, and different species of birds and crabs.

That afternoon, we went to check out the Gulf of Mexico.  We went to Anna Maria Island, where the wind was cool down by the water, but the sun was so nice.  I ended up putting on a cardigan, but it was relaxing and so much fun.  We collected some seashells and sand before heading out and having dinner with my extended family.

The next day had a pretty rainy afternoon, so that morning we went to a place called TopGolf.  It was a three-story driving range where each golf ball was equipped with a microchip, and you tried to hit the golf ball into different targets for points.  I've never golfed before, and I've only been to a driving range once, but I thought it was a lot of fun!  Feel free to judge my golf swing/technique, but I never missed, so I don't care.

After golfing, we went to one of those crazy trampoline places because it had started raining.  Then we just hung out at my aunt's house for the rest of the night because I think we were all pretty exhausted.  Wednesday morning, my family left early to head back to Buffalo with the RV and I stayed behind to fly back to Boston.

I'm so glad that I got to spend time with my family and have a few days where the air outside doesn't take my breath away.  We got to see both the Atlantic Ocean and the Gulf of Mexico within a 24 hour time span, which I think was pretty impressive! I'm glad to be home, though.  Vacations are never relaxing, are they? ;)
