In college, wall decals were the best. thing. ever. because it meant temporary personalization of your space-- something that otherwise couldn't be done other than some cute bedding or a leaning corkboard.  In each of my rooms, I had at least one wall decal to make me feel like I was more at home.  I'd kind of thrown the idea to the wind, because if I wanted a quote in my apartment, I'd rather customize it myself and have it framed.

Anyway, my kitchen is boring.  It's hard to decorate a kitchen when you're a renter.  I went to Target on Monday and found these pretty confetti wall decals for under $10.  Score.  When I saw them, I knew they'd be perfect as a temporary backsplash for my kitchen.

I immediately put them up when I got home.  I worried Roger would think they were too girly-- which he does, but he likes it better than the plain wall.  The only problem was that by Tuesday morning, some of the gold foil ones looked like this:

Picture me bummed, because the gold ones are obviously my favorite.  Not all of them did that though, so I'm not sure what the issue was.  I just replaced the ones that looked like that since I didn't even use half of the pack.  There were so many dots, so it's nice to know that if I want to add more or need to replace any, I have the freedom to do that.  And my favorite part is how the colors tie into my mismatched baking canisters and what they have in them, all by happy accident!

Here's a before and after, if you're into that kind of thing.

It doesn't even look like the same kitchen, does it? :)
