So... first things first.  My absence these past few weeks can be explained, I promise.  I'll explain it in four words: Memphis, Philadelphia, Boston, and Chicago.  Massachusetts again in about a week.

I can also promise that posts are coming about these trips, complete with pictures and way more information than any of you could want.

One more thing.  Don't hate me for the Memphis video.  It's almost done.  Swear.

Anyway...

^^Here's where we left off in the "painting the front door" saga.  Nasty rusty/silver-ness.

Later that day, actually, my mom brought home a rust preventative so that we could sort of seal up the rust and get it completely prepped for painting.

There was a problem, though.  The spray was actually much darker than the cap (which matched our front door pretty well).  The problem we ran into later on was the fact that the paint (even with added primer) didn't cover the dark gray.  So we're currently on coat number 5.  It's getting better.

It said just to make large sweeping motions about a foot away from the surface you're spraying.  So that's what I did.  This was the easiest part of the whole project.

We do actually like the dark gray color for around the windows, though.  We're still deciding on what to do with that, but we're just working one thing at a time.

So we went to Home Depot and picked out six different paint chips, brought them home, took a vote, and picked one!  Guess which one it is!

...I'm not telling for now.  You'll have to wait and find out :)

Promise to be back soon with the answer!
